SUMMARY:Barefoot Island
DESCRIPTION:Barefoot Island is a social sculpture\, an abundant oasis of blooming edible plants and public art on a small reclaimed deck that hosts a new project where people can come and pick food for free and engage in community programming at the intersection of social service\, movement\, and well-being. \nHow can art function to bring about tangible change in the world? These are concerns I share with my close collaborators Janelle Dunlap\, Keif Schleifer\, and Kebbi Williams. Barefoot Island advances our individual practices of choreography\, architecture\, visual art\, and music\, to have an absolutely clear citation of the people who move us: our community. It feels less like it is about art. The art\, in this case\, is about a deep belief in the power of human beings to become our best selves\, biodiverse\, living whole treasures. \nLike art\, and the river\, the work points to restoration\, and maybe paradise\, it suggests\, can be regained as we confront the relationship between humans and our impact on the world. A sound installation of atmospheric rhythms and a pulsating hum—similar to the flow of water—along with artist-led workshops\, and research | pedagogy\, aim to reflect on how similar we are to water and how it breathes just like we do—if we only decide to listen to it. With Barefoot Island\, we set out to provide a solution to the question\, how can we consider art\, food\, and the river as a common right and resource in Fulton County. \nCochran Mill Park\n6875 Cochran Mill Rd\, Palmetto\, GA 30268\nProject launch May 21- July 5\, 2023 \nThe launch of Barefoot Island is made possible through the Atlanta Contemporary/Nexus Fund Regranting Program\, with support from the Andy Warhol Foundation.

SUMMARY:17th Street Prairie: cycle III
DESCRIPTION:Reimagined from a yet-to-be-developed 2.5 acre lot\, 17th Street Prairie creates the illusion of being on a prairie in the middle of the city. My approach to Land Art is the same as our choreographic thinking- a hybridity of forms emphasizing interconnectedness\, solidarity networks\, and art making as a care system. \nApril-December 2023\nMidtown Atlanta \nMade possible with major support of Jaimie Dewberry and the Dewberry Foundation.

SUMMARY:WE'RE NOT UNREACHABLE\, WE'RE NOT UNREACHABLE
DESCRIPTION:research project (2010-2022) \na compilation of detailed catalogs for social practice choreographies of a variety of species\, memories\, plumb lines\, spirit levels\, and moves; a sort of reverse archaeographer excavation attempting to access bodies\, viscera\, illusion and reality\, all bound into one. when i arrived on the farm a long time ago i was baffled by her intricacies; those complexity remains downright terrifying. glo complete works have activated many sites but never corner studio\, so i’m really very humbled for this call in of our beloved community to this sacred space you’ve provided us on this journey. also\, our neon studies initiative is currently distributed throughout the rural south for the exception of no. 7. large-scale in a brilliant gold\, i wish to offer this art piece\, and her message- beautiful stranger thank you for coming– as a a vision that extends the skies like big ass cosmos- in tandem with the goat farm’s re/construction. \nglo’s departure from the farm has been determined for February 15.
