City Waltz, Holy Waltz
June 19 - 26, 2026
Atlanta
A magical experience rooted in the here and now.
City Waltz, Holy Waltz is a new project that traces the lineage of intervention - “between & to come,” transforming public sidewalks into a stage, and using waltz as a tool to explore global themes, and metamorphosis. stallings maps landscapes and feelings from inside the body into a physical language. This is the fertile ground from which city waltz / holy waltz has grown, a 120 - minute live art work that where six glo moving artists: Beatriz Cortez, Zandia Covington, Noëlle Dave’, Ashley Ianna Daye, Marcelle Gressier, and Mary Jane Pennington - in Maggie Phillips’ long floral gowns commit to traverse, linger, and interact across Atlanta to explore the "gravitational pull" of human interaction, and how people move through transitions and celebration, creating a sense of being suspended in a time somewhere in-between hope and despair.
Presented and hosted over 8 days by Reverb, Flux Projects, Little 5 Points Community, Historic Oakland Cemetery, City of Palmetto, and Whitespace Gallery.
